We will be conducting our individual time trial on October 25th, 2008. The course will be a point to point 2 kilometer climb up the stagecoach trail, located at the American River Confluence, below the Foresthill Bridge. Members of the club will leave the start line at one-minute intervals and will race the clock to the top of the course. The stage coach trail is a double-track dirt fire road that climbs the canyon at about a 7% grade.
The best time for our fall time trial in 2008 was 7 minutes and 49 seconds (Daniel Rotheram). The overall record for our team at the Stagecoach time trial is 6 minutes 42 seconds at the winter 2008 time trial (Daniel Rotheram).
The fall time trial is a great opportunity for new riders to test their legs and lungs to see what level of fitness they are starting out with. Returning riders can see if they have maintained the good form that they built up last spring, or if they have lost some of their fitness over the summer.
We may even see if the coaching staff can keep up with the team. Who knows?
Carpooling is encouraged. Contact your fellow riders for carpooling arrangements.
Email the coaches if you have any questions.
See you at the ride.
